But, starting in 2024, South Carolina is offering something new for golf lovers—a brand new PGA TOUR event to be held in Myrtle Beach May 9 – 12. The Myrtle Beach Classic is the first sanctioned major tournament to be held in Myrtle Beach in the past 24 years and it will be hosted by Dunes Golf & Beach Club, a championship course right on the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Myrtle Beach.
Often referred to as the “Golf Capital of the World,” Myrtle Beach has long had a reputation as one of the best places to find challenging and affordable courses and this tournament solidifies that reputation even more. This dual-field event is one of 36 events that make up the FedEx Cup regular season in 2024. Tickets run $25 for practice rounds and $45-$55 for tournament days. A weekly admission badge will run $200.

This Robert Trent Jones design has hosted many high-profile events including PGA TOUR Championships, USGA, Collegiate and men’s and women’s state amateur competitions. Today, this renowned 18-hole golf course is consistently ranked among the Top 100 courses in the nation.
