One of the Myrtle Beach area's most enduring cultural institutions is to be the recipient of funds generated from a truly fun event. Art To Wear:Head to Toe Runway Fashion Show will take place Thursday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at 2001 Nightclub, celebrating the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum's 15th Anniversary.

Both emerging and established artists have been challenged to create wearable works of art that are "runway ready." The pieces will be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges with prizes awarded in multiple categories.

The party will be emceed by Carolina Improv founder Gina Trimarco Cligrow, and dance numbers will be performed by students from Abiding Village, a nonprofit arts academy. The focus of the night, of course, is the museum and fashion. Models will wear the designs of the participating artists, wearing an array of about 20 original designs created as part of the fashion design competition.

Tickets are $25 per person ($15 for students). These include light appetizers from in-kind sponsor Buttercream Cakes and Catering, entry to the fashion show and a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased at the Museum, 3100 S. Ocean Blvd., by calling (843) 238-2510 or online at www.MyrtleBeachArtMuseum.org. 2001 Nightclub is located at 920 Lake Arrowhead Road.
