Kick off the holiday season with Vista Lights

Posted 11/15/2012 10:53:00 AM

In Columbia the happy rush of the holidays never sets in until Mayor Steve Benjamin lights the tree at Vista Lights. On Nov. 15, the streets of Columbia’s Congaree Vista are shut down for pedestrian traffic as stores and art galleries open their doors for a celebration of the season.

The festive atmosphere makes purchasing gifts of art an immense pleasure as gallery owners offer wine, cheese, and conversation for potential buyers.

Participating galleries are listed here:

City Art, 1224 Lincoln St.
Vista Studios/Gallery 80808, 808 Lady St.
Lewis + Clark, 1221 Lincoln St.
If ART Gallery, 1223 Lincoln St.
Carol Saunders Gallery, 922 Gervais St.
Nonnah’s Restaurant, 930 Gervais St.
Paul D. Sloan Interiors, 1012 Gervais St.
One Eared Cow Glass, 1001 Huger St.
… and much more!

This is the perfect time to walk the streets of this friendly city and check items off of your Christmas list early.
