Juilliard To Set Up Camp in Aiken March 9-15

It is an aspiring musician’s dream to study at Juilliard, the renowned school for performing arts located in New York’s Lincoln Center. Many find that just the opportunity to be in the presence of the talented faculty, students, and staff is an honor worth cherishing.

For the past five years, Juilliard has enjoyed a special relationship with Aiken. Aiken is the only community in the world that Juilliard has partnered with for an annual program that brings a week of performances and outreach opportunities to the area.

The week of March 9-15, about 40 Juilliard students, faculty and alumni will present public performances, school outreach programs and master classes throughout the city. Highlights of the week include Grammy-winning organist Paul Jacobs, crossover violinist Charles Yang, and the dynamic piano duo Anderson & Roe.

The week also will serve as a precursor to the 2013 Youth Summer Jazz Workshop, which will take place June 10-14.
