It's apple time in the S.C. mountains

Autumn always gets our family thinking about apples. No trip to the mountains is complete without a stop at a roadside stand for a bag to take home (plus a few extra to carry along on a hike or eat on the ride home.)
Here’s another way to celebrate the season: the
49th South Carolina Apple Festival in the
Oconee County town of Westminster in South Carolina’s “Golden Corner” of the
Upstate.
It begins the week after Labor Day and runs through the following weekend, featuring all-things-apples (including an apple baking contest), along with crafts, music, a parade and a championship rodeo.
