It's almost October ... the scariest month of the year

Halloween events can be found all over the state this month -- even underwater.

The S.C. Aquarium in Charleston becomes Scary'um Aquarium on Oct. 1 and continues through the month, with all sorts of events to get you ready for this kid-centered holiday.

You can celebrate Halloween every Saturday with the otters, who you can watch react to a spooky surprise, while the Scare Cart lets you experience some night frights including owls, snakes and eels every day.

Have a child who wants to dress as Dorothy or the Tin Man for Halloween? You’ll want to check out the 4-D Wizard of Oz experience at the aquarium. The experience features digital 3-D along with special effects including wind, lighting and a few other surprises. We guarantee you'll be blown away.

During October, you can catch the 15-minute show at the aquarium at 10:40 a.m., 11:20 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 12:20 p.m., 12:40 p.m., 1:20 p.m., 1:40 p.m., 2:20 p.m., 2:40 p.m., 3:20 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.
