Tupelo Honey Café coming to Greenville

One of the most popular restaurants in Asheville, N.C., is coming to Greenville in summer 2013.

Tupelo Honey will become part of Greenville’s vibrant downtown restaurant district, with restaurants and shops lining Main Street.

With favorites such as goat cheese grits, Southern fried chicken Saltimbocca and the Venerated Veggie Bowl (layers of goat cheese grits, black-eyed peas, sautéed greens and fried okra), Tupelo Honey serves Southern food with some creative touches.

It will be at the corner of Main and Laurens streets on the ground floor of a new project called ONE.

According to Tupelo Honey’s website, the restaurant will seat about 140 and include a full bar and outdoor patio seating.

Tupelo Honey Café opened in downtown Asheville in 2000 and opened a second Asheville location in 2010. The third Tupelo Honey opened in Knoxville, Tenn., in October.

There’s already a Facebook page especially to keep fans up to date on plans for the Greenville restaurant.
