Think your barbecue is the best in South Carolina? Put it to the test at the S.C. Department of Agriculture’s Smokin’ at the Market Commissioners Cup BBQ Cook Off.

The competition is March 22-23 at the State Farmers Market in West Columbia.

Categories are “Anything Butt,” Boston butts and pork ribs. Prizes ranging from $250 to in the “Anything Butts” competition to $2,100 in the butts and ribs events.

Cookers competing in butts and ribs also are eligible to be grand champion or reserve champion.

Barbecue teams can sign up online.  

The cook off is sanctioned by the Southern BBQ Network.
