Oysters are roasting at Lake Carolina

Get your oyster knives ready. The 9th annual
Lake Carolina Oyster Roast is 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.
The roast is at the
Lake House at
Lake Carolina, which is in northeast
Columbia.
Along with steamed local oysters, the feast will include barbecue, sides and beverages. Musical entertainment will be by
Barefoot-n- Reckless band.
Bring a glove and shucking knife. Lake Carolina will provide extra knifes and hand towels. Coolers are allowed.
The roast raises funds for Children’s Charities of the Midlands, a 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to promoting charitable endeavors that are committed to improving the health, welfare and education of South Carolina’s youth.
An all-you-can-eat pass is $35 at the door or $30 in advance and includes all the oysters you can eat plus a plate of barbecue and sides. A single-serving ticket is $25 at the door or $20 in advance and includes one bucket of oysters and one barbecue plate and sides. Children 12 and younger can eat for $5.
