One of the downsides for parents of school-age children can be figuring out what to do with the little darlings when school is out and you’re at work, or when the kids are just bored and need something new to do

The folks at Charleston Cooks! in Columbia, Charleston and Greenville are here to help. They’re offering summer camps where kids can learn basic cooking skills, how to prepare foods from around the world, or baking. Most of the camps for are children ages 8-12, but there also are camps for ages 5-7 and a teen bootcamp for ages 13-16.

All sessions are participation classes, taught in the residential kitchen classroom of the culinary stores. The camps run throughout the summer.

You can see details and sign up for the classes online here for Columbia, here for Charleston and here for Greenville.

The prices range from $25 for a two-hour camp for children ages 5-7 to $165 camp for ages 8-12 that meets four days from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
