Warm up with a hearty lunch at Graze

On a cold winter day, nothing warms you up as much as a hearty, nourishing meal.

My husband and I enjoyed that type of lunch recently at Graze in Mount Pleasant. It was our first time eating there, but online reviewers raved about it, and we were not disappointed.

The restaurant has been open about three years in the shopping mall next to Whole Foods.

I had the gnocchi Bolognese; the gnocchi was housemade ricotta, and the Bolognese sauce included veal, pork and pancetta. It was a generous serving in a large white bowl, but it was too good to leave a morsel.

My husband had the wild mushroom papperdelle, made with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, spinach, totasted pine nuts and truffle oil. (Papperdelle is a broad, flat noodle.)

Not only were these meals delicious, but the prices were so reasonable. My gnocchi was $10, and his papperdelle was $9.

Many of the same dishes are on the dinner menu, although the prices are a little higher. I’d love to return for dinner to try the chicken and waffles; that’s chicken on housemade waffles with honey butter and maple syrup.
