Get great meals, bargain prices during Restaurant Week

Posted 1/5/2014 8:40:00 PM

Get ready for Restaurant Week South Carolina Jan. 9-19, the perfect time to return to favorite eateries or try out new ones at prices easy on your budget.

Special offers range from $7.49 at Lizard’s Thicket restaurants throughout Columbia and in Florence to $40 per person at Fat HenCirca 1886 and Oak Steakhouse, all in Charleston

More than 120 participating restaurants are listed on the website, and you can also see a Restaurant Week menu for most. For example, Larkin’s on the River in Greenville is offering a $30 per person meal that includes a house salad or cup of she crab soup; a choice of three entrees: a New York strip steak, smoked chicken carbonara or pistachio-encrusted grouper; with crème brulee cheese cake for dessert.

On the website, you can search by region, city or type of cuisine. You can also link to special Restaurant Week Facebook pages for the state’s five largest cities: Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach.

If you choose, you can also order at the standard menu at any of the restaurants.

The statewide Restaurant Week is sponsored by the S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association and regional partners.

It began six years ago as a way to give the restaurant industry a boost during what is traditionally a slow time, while giving diners special deals.
