Restaurants offer special Christmas menus

If your idea of a perfect Christmas dinner is one you don’t have to cook, a number of restaurants around the state want to make your holiday special.

Some restaurants are beginning to promote special menus for Christmas day.

For example, the menu at Magnolia’s in Charleston includes a butternut squash bisque with spiced apple crème fraîche; a wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with beefsteak tomatoes, ham cracklings, crumbled blue cheese and buttermilk dressing; turkey with whipped potatoes, country green beans, herb stuffing, cranberry sauce and giblet gravy; roasted duck with wild mushroom and leek au gratin potatoes, sautéed asparagus and cranberry port wine pan jus; honey-baked ham with whipped sweet potatoes, braised mustard greens and warm apricot chutney; or pan-seared grouper with roasted butternut squash, caramelized Brussels sprouts, crispy pancetta and a lemon sage brown butter sauce. Entrée prices are $28.

Poogan's Porch Restaurant in Charleston, will be open to serve a prix fixe, three-course Christmas dinner for $42.95 for adults and $19.95 for children younger than 10.

Charleston Grill also is planning a Christmas feast. Entrée choices include wild salmon, prime beef tenderloin, lamb chops, guinea hen breast and white sturgeon. The price is $80 per person, and a full menu is posted online.

Woodlands Inn in Summerville will be offering a Christmas Day brunch buffet for $45 for adults and $23 for children.

The Brentwood Restaurant in Little River has a special menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas that includes a four-course dinner for $39. Entrees include prime rib, pork roulade and salmon en croute. The chef’s wine selection and champagne are available for $16. Entrees from the regular menu are available, as well as a healthy children’s menu.

Greg Norman’s Australian Grille in North Myrtle Beach will be offer a special Christmas menu. Entrees include include pan-seared salmon ($26.95) and roasted goose. (29.95)

In Hilton Head Island, hh prime is offering a special dinner menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Entrée choices, which range from $24 to $34, include filet mignon, prime rib, crab cakes, trout, duck breast and rack of lamb. The menu is online.
