Go Tigers – and Gamecocks, and Sand Sharks too: State schools host fans at RBC Heritage’s 18th hole

The area to the right of the 18th tee at Harbour Town Golf Links has become “party central” for the RBC Heritage, which will celebrate its 45th year April 15-21. Besides a newly designated “Heritage Lawn” (on the former site of the CBS-TV compound), the area annually is home to a tent village featuring all manner of companies – and, for the past few years, a hospitality tent hosted by Clemson University.

Obviously, in a state where college sports allegiances are defined by rivalries, such a situation couldn’t last. Thus, the 2013 Heritage will add to the 18th-tee mix a hospitality tent for University of South Carolina fans, hosted by the My Carolina Alumni Association and the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

The tent will offer complimentary snacks and beverages for My Carolina and Gamecock Club members, as well as friends of USC Beaufort. Especially when the golf – and the partying – reaches its peak on Saturday and Sunday, the tent will be THE place to be for Gamecocks and USCB Sand Sharks fans.

The tent will open on Thursday (April 18) and run through the weekend. Membership cards will be required. For more information or to join, click here.
