The Preserve at Verdae, just off Interstate 85 in Greenville, has a long and proud tradition. Originally known as Verdae Greens and a past host for nine years of the Nike Tour (now Tour) Upstate Classic, the hilly, forested public-access course located adjacent to an Embassy Suites in recent year underwent a renovation – and received a new name.

All that would make it an attractive choice for locals and golfing visitors to the Upstate, but via online golf site, The Preserve at Verdae is offering discounted prices only through the website. Rounds with cart start at $39 Tuesdays and Thursdays, a savings of $10, or any time Monday-Thursday for $49 ($14 off); weekend rates are $55 Fridays and Sundays ($11 discount) and $59 Saturdays ($13 off).

The par-72 course, designed by noted architect Willard Byrd, features Bermuda fairways and slick Mini-Verde Bermuda greens, surrounded by think forests of pine and hardwoods. Of note are its par-3 holes, with forced carries over water and/or rocky ravines.
