Great golf for a cause

Need an excuse to take a vacation to
Hilton Head and play golf on a beautiful private course? Well, look no further. The 2010 Tee Off Fore the Arts charity tournament will be played at
Wexford Golf Club on Oct. 18.
The tournament benefits the Education and Outreach programs at the
Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, which brings the power of the arts to families and children throughout the area.
And there’s the golf…
Wexford Golf Club, designed by Willard Byrd, is perhaps best known as the qualifier course for the PGA Tour’s Heritage Classic, the annual tournament held at
Harbour Town. As he did with several of his courses on the coast, Byrd took advantage of the natural surrounding beauty at Wexford to carve out an experience that could qualify as a nature walk as easily as a round of golf. As you would expect, natural hazards and water come into play frequently on the course, which measures nearly 7,000 yards from the tips.
Finally, if the philanthropic benefits and great golf are not enough to convince you, the tournament also features an after-party with an open bar and food catered by celebrity chef
Robert Irvine’s island restaurant “eat!” Check out Insider Gwen Fowler's interview with Irvine
here.
