It’s that peachy time of year

Ah, wasn’t that cool spring nice? But like all good things, it had to end. There is, however, at least one benefit to the warmer weather and that is a big, fat peach crop, followed of course, by a whole crop of peach festivals.
One of our favorites is in the Edgefield County town of Trenton
. The Ridge Peach Festival
is celebrating its 43rd year this year with its usual combination of arts and crafts, antique tractors and cars and well, of course, peaches.
Peaches in preserves, jams and jellies; peaches in cobblers and ice cream; peaches just about any old way you want them.
The festival also will have plenty of local food vendors and live entertainment.
The festival is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 15 with the parade passing through at 10:30 a.m. Bring your kids and your appetites, but leave your golf carts and pets at home.
