Tracy Pou’s hometown of North, S.C., is about as far off the beaten path as one might imagine. In that small community, Tracy developed a big love for writing and an insatiable interest in offbeat places and unusual South Carolina getaways and destinations.

That curiosity led her to the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. After graduation, Tracy worked four years as a television news producer for one of the state’s top-rated NBC news affiliates. She left full-time TV news in 2002 and moved to Charleston, where she works for a statewide health insurer as a corporate communicator.
