Posted 9/17/2012 4:53:00 PM

Prepare to do battle. Cyclists will be mounting up again this year for the Assault on Little Mountain, a multi-distance ride through the picturesque Midlands town that sits on an isolated hill in an otherwise flat area.

The cycling event takes place Sept. 29 and includes 11, 20, 40, 63 and 100-mile rides through downtown Little Mountain. Maps and sag support will be provided to all riders by Carolina Cyclers.

Cyclists will gather at Reunion Park — a block off Main Street — and set off in a mass start at 8 a.m. To participate in the century ride, you’ll need to enter the upper loop by 11:30 a.m.

The registration fee is $40, but if you sign up by Sept. 26, you’ll get a $10 discount. For family members of early birds, the fee is only $15. Be sure to add the names of your family members in your on-line registration. The discount will be calculated when you check out.
