When the leaves begin to turn color and fall, it’s time for the South Carolina State Museum’s annual autumn tradition — the Fall Heritage Festival and Pickin’ Party! Featuring mouth-watering barbecue, a score of Palmetto State craftsmen on-site and some of South Carolina’s best musical talent, guests will enjoy a day filled with fall activities for the whole family.
Barbecue is the headliner at the festival! An old-fashioned pig pickin’ will offer festival-goers three different styles of South Carolina barbecue prepared by award-winning cookers.
In addition to great music and food, guests also will get the chance to see craft demonstrations by artists from across the state and purchase folk art and traditional handcrafted items. Artists will display and sell their creations in pottery, jewelry, soaps, paintings, gourd art, blacksmithing and more. Craft demonstrations include spinning, rug-hooking, spoon carving, blacksmithing and much more.
