How many seeds can you find? While walking around Lake Placid in late September, participants can find a wonderland of seeds - some prickly, some hidden in tasty fruit, and some quite hairy. Seeds have amazing ways of growing, and then dispersing, sometimes involving animals in the process. Starting with microscopes in the park lab, participants will take a ranger-led walk around Lake Placid, searching for, inspecting and identifying at least 10 kinds of seeds, in this fun scavenger hunt for the whole family. The fee for this 2 hour program is $5 per person, payable at the fee booth instead of admission. Registration is required. To register, email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the park office at 244-5565. Meet at Park Center.
