Battle Of Blackstock's Anniversary Celebration

On November 20, 1780, General Thomas Sumter and his men fought Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton and a small, but well trained force of British soldiers at the Blackstock's Plantation in modern-day Union County. On Saturday, November 23, 2014, Musgrove Mill State Historic Site will remember this important event with the Battle of Blackstock's Anniversary Commemoration. The event will feature a tour of the Blackstock Battlefield by historian and Blackstock's expert Michael Burgess at 2:30 pm at Blackstock Battlefield Historic Site. We will meet at Musgrove Mill State Historic Site at 1:30 PM, and then caravan to the Blackstock Battlefield. Parking at Blackstock is limited, so we will carpool as much as possible. Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is located at 398 State Park Rd., Clinton, SC 29325, 7 miles off of exit 52 on Interstate 26. For more information contact the park at (864) 938-0100 or mgmillsp@scprt.com.
