Anthropology Lecture Series at Charles Towne Landing

1500 Old Towne RD
Charleston, SC 29407

Description

Remarkable things are happening in the world of anthropology: some right here in South Carolina! And you can hear about them first by attending these provocative lectures on today's cutting edge field research. Listen to experts in anrthropology and archaeology present their findings from excavations at Charles Towne Landing, Cherokee sites in the mountains, Revolutionary War battlefields, ceremonial sites in Ecuador, and so much more. This series will spur your imagination and engage your intellect. Each quarterly presentation will have a fresh topic and format, from a single speaker talking about local interests to an entire conference talking about the hotest topics in the fields of Anthropology and Archaeology. The lectures occur quarterly in February, May, August and November, so check our website or give us a call for the date and topic of the next presentation. The presentation is followed by a wine and cheese reception sponsored by the Friends of Charles Towne Landing. Join us on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30pm for archaeologist Larry James' discussion on the public archaeology program at Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site in Summerville, SC.
