2014 Spring Volunteer Excavation

Work alongside archaeologists to excavate a late 18th- to early 19th-century site at Hampton Plantation State Historic Site. Volunteers will help excavate, wash, and sort artifacts. Housing, breakfast, lunch (on site), and dinner are provided for those interested. You will be housed Sunday – Friday at the Baruch Research Institute near Georgetown, SC. It's about a 30 minute drive to the site each day. There is no mandatory fee for this experience, but donations will be accepted to help defer costs (suggested donation $30/adult/night, $20/student/night). This experience is limited to 32 participants. For details and to make a reservation, contact David Jones at djones@scprt.com and put "Hampton Plantation Spring Dig" in the subject line.
