Lake Marion is beautiful this time of year - the fall colors are emerging, the days are cooler, and it's a great time to be in a kayak. Get out with an experienced kayak guide for a 3-hour tour around Church Island and the surrounding waters. You'll paddle through a cypress swamp, around an island, and even get a chance to visit a Confederate graveyard on the trip. Who knows what wildlife we'll discover, but chances are we'll see ospreys perched high in the trees, wading birds hunting in the shallows, ducks, and more!
As an extra treat, we'll work in a visit to Eutaw Springs Battlefield, site of a Revolutionary War battle. We'll carpool and caravan from Santee State Park to the Spiers Landing boat launch for the kayak tour. Participation is limited to 22 participants, so register asap.
Cost is $165/single occupancy, $110/double occupancy. Cost includes 2 nights stay in a cabin at Santee State Park and the kayak tour. Call the park for reservations.
