A Walk Through History

It’s the 1770s, and Richard Paris claims Paris Mountain while it is part of the Cherokee nation. It’s the 1880s, and a tornado rips through the homes of people who live on the mountain. A water supply for Greenville is started from Paris Mountain’s water. It’s the 1930s, and the Civilian Conservation Corps builds a state park. It’s 2016 – enjoy a stroll around Lake Placid, discovering secrets of the past on this easy 1 ½ hour walk through the history of Paris Mountain State Park. Meet at Park Center. The program is $7.00 per person. ADMISSION IS WAIVED. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. To register, email to ctaylor@scprt.com, or call the park office at 864-244-5565.
