Camden Archives And Museum

Established in 1973, the Archives and Museum is responsible for collecting, preserving and making accessible items of importance to the history of Kershaw County. The artifacts in the museum represent a diverse collection of items relating to our cultural heritage. The museum is also home to the Ross E. Beard Collection of firearms, militaria, and items related to G-man Melvin Purvis. The museum's library is recognized for its genealogical and historical research. The library is home to the state libraries of both the Daughters of the American Revolution's and the Colonial Dames XVII Century.
