The Joy of Gardening

The Master Gardeners of York County are sponsoring a symposium, “The Joy of Gardening: Making Gardening Easier As We Get Older,” on March 3, 2007. Noted author Margot Rochester will share techniques on the easy way to have a glorious garden. There will be three breakout sessions allowing participants to select an outdoor living program to meet individual needs and interests. Session one selections are Flowering Shrubs–The True Perennials; Easier Vegetable Gardening: Grow More, Work Less; Carolina Native Fern-- Ecological History in the Garden. Session two topics are: Real Life Herbs; Exotic/Invasive Plants; Easy Care Plants that Create A Tropical Look. The third session includes talks on When Plant Meets Stone; Great Plants–Easy Plants, Maximize Your Time and Minimize Your Efforts; Great Mounds of Fire (Fire Ant Control).

The symposium will be held 8:30 am-3pm at Tillman Hall, Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC.
