Located on the site of the historic mustering grounds of the SC Militia, the new museum traces the history and cultural development of Cherokee County. Permanent exhibits focus on geology, Native Americans, the Revolutionary War, textiles, railroads, farming, horse and auto racing, moonshining and the peach industry. A library and genealogy research room also is available. Special programs and events are held regularly - including genealogy workshops, historic hayrides and ghost walks, and quilt and pottery shows.
