Each summer the Southeastern Piano Festival transforms the University of South Carolina School of Music and Columbia, S.C., into a major cultural destination that draws piano talent from around the world. The 2013 festival, June 9 – 15, will be special as the Festival celebrates its 11th anniversary.
The Festival mounts a series of piano concert featuring well-known musicians from around the world and is the only festival of its kind in the Southeast. It also provides training to 20 young pianists who perform and take part in the Arthur Fraser International Concerto Competition during the festival. This will be a truly international festival with peformances by Sergei Babayan from Russian, Ilana Vered from Israel, and Zhou Keng of China.
