Lanier Sailing Academy - Lake Murray

Lanier Sailing Academy-Lake Murray helps sailors achieve their sailing dreams by offering sailing courses and a sailing club in a fun environment. Skippered sails and sailboat rentals round out the sailing adventures provided. Lanier Sailing Academy on Lake Murray, just minutes from downtown Columbia, makes its home at Southshore Marina on Highway 378, west of Lexington. Basic keelboat classes are taught for American Sailing Association certification, and include 18 hours of on-the-water instruction. The most popular skippered cruise, a 2 1/2 hour sunset sail, is a great way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or just relax with friends or family. The Happy Sails Club is a fun and economic way for basic keelboat graduates and other sailors to sail as often as they like and join in on club events such as moonlight sails and clinics. Sailboat rentals are also available on weekdays for qualified sailors. Watch a video of an outdoor enthusiast sailing on Lake Murray.
