PAIA Lower Eastern Cherokee Nation of South Carolina

The PAIA Lower Eastern Cherokee Nation was recognized by the state of South Carolina as a tribe on June 19, 2015. The PAIALECNSC is the only Recognized Cherokee Tribe in South Carolina. Our Chief is Chief Gene Norris. On the 5+ acres of land, a craft store, a museum, a Cherokee Living Village, and tribal office are situated. Our annual Pow Wow is Sept. 24th and is open to the public. The gate opens at 9:00 AM and the Pow Wow continues till 7:00 PM. Our Host Drum is the Edisto River Singers; our MC is Harlan Richardson of the Haliwa Saponi Tribe; our special guest is recording star, Michael Jacobs of the Cherokee Nation. Indian tacos and fry bread will be sold. Many craft booths will be open with a variety of handmade crafts . Dancing is Luck of the Draw and dancers must be in regalia. There are several games that will be lots of fun for all ages. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 children 3-17, and children 2 and under are FREE. There are other special events held each year.
