The area boasts more than 150 waterfalls, three major freshwater lakes, The Chattooga National Wild & Scenic River, The Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Byway, thousands of acres of parks, and hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails.

In addition to all of the things to do in the great outdoors, this corner of South Carolina is also home to wonderful small towns and bustling cities that offer visitors world-class museums, antique, outlet and specialty shopping, and a menu of dining opportunities including drive-ins, barbecue joints, meat-and-three’s, as well as a wonderful collection fine-dining establishments.

There are museums and art galleries throughout the region holding world-class collections and collectables. Recognized as the largest collection of religious art in the Western Hemisphere, the Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery possesses artworks from the 14th through the 19th Centuries.
