Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, Home of the USS Yorktown

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, only five minutes from Downtown Charleston, is home to the aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN, WWII's Fighting Lady. The museum also includes the destroyer LAFFEY, the submarine CLAMAGORE, a re-creation of a Vietnam Naval Support Base and a Marine Fire Artillery Base, 28 historic military aircraft, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Museum, numerous displays and exhibits. Climb aboard the Navy Flight simulator for a five-minute ride on an F/A-18 in flight. A FREE Visitor Guide and Map are provided for self-guided tours and audio tours are available for purchase. Physically disabled visitors can access the hangar bays and flight deck via elevator and also view a video tour of the aircraft carrier YORKTOWN. Volunteers are available for informational tours.
