Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, Home of the USS Yorktown

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, only five minutes from downtown Charleston, is home to the aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN, WWII's Fighting Lady. The museum also includes the destroyer USS LAFFEY, the submarine USS CLAMAGORE, a re-creation of a Vietnam Naval Support Base and a Marine Fire Artillery Base, 28 historic military aircraft and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Museum, as well as numerous displays and exhibits. Climb aboard the Navy Flight simulator for a five-minute ride on an F/A-18 in flight. A FREE Visitor Guide and Map are provided for self-guided tours, and audio tours are available for purchase. Physically disabled visitors can access the hangar bays and flight deck via elevator and also view a video tour of the aircraft carrier YORKTOWN. Volunteers are available for informational tours.
