If you’re visiting Greer and want to truly immerse yourself in its historic vibe, book a room at The James House Inn. Built in 1921 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this beautifully restored bed-and-breakfast features four bedrooms with maple wood flooring, 10-foot ceilings and fine antique furniture, including hand-carved beds.

As a guest of the inn, you’re welcome to lounge in the elegant living room furnished with a 65-inch TV, play pool in the billiards room, relax on outdoor porches and stroll through the garden featuring a lovely lily pond with fountain and goldfish. Bicycles are available to explore the historic downtown.

Upon arrival from 4 to 6 p.m., the innkeepers will great you with a happy hour drink and light hors d’oeuvres. In the morning, you’ll enjoy a full breakfast accompanied by fresh-brewed Kona coffee.

While the home is historic, it features all the conveniences of a modern hotel, including Wi-Fi and a business center.

Greer also has several national brand hotel chains, including Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Mainstay Suites, Quality Inn and Super 8 by Wyndham.

Whatever accommodations you choose, you’ll be just a short drive from Greer Station and its many fun restaurants and shops, as well as Greer City Park, the venue for year-round festivals and events.
