Town of Branchville

One of the oldest established towns in the state, Branchville was settled in 1734 by a Prussian immigrant. The town is in the southern tip of Orangeburg County at the crossroads of US 21/US 78 and less than 15 miles from I-95. The Branchville Railroad Museum and Shrine is located in the old train depot which sits besides the tracks. Each year the town celebrates the history of being the oldest railroad junction in the world during its Raylrode Daze Festival
