Olde English District

The Camden Archives and Museum tells the story of the people of Camden and our surrounding area. Visitors to the museum can view both permanent and rotating exhibits on the City of Camden's rich history. Artifacts on display are as diverse as pre-colonial Native American items, artifacts from the 1780 Battle of Camden, and Ruffian's halter. Looking to discover more about the people and places that make up Camden? The Archives and Museum has one of the best genealogical research libraries in South Carolina. The South Carolina Daughters of the American Revolution Library and the Colonial Dames XVII Century Library are also located at the archives. We help you discover Camden - South Carolina's oldest inland city!
