Annual Candlelight Concert At Drayton Hall
The annual Spring Candlelight Concerts at Drayton Hall have always delivered a unique audience experience through the remarkable talents of national and international competition winners from the College of Charleston's School of the Arts under the direction of acclaimed pianist Enrique Graf. In 2008 fans of this annual event will get an added surprise as one of the more unexpected areas of this 18th-century architectural masterpiece is transformed into performance space. For the first time ever, the concerts will take place in the raised English basement of the main house and will be staged to take advantage of the atmospheric properties of this exceptional architectural feature.
The evening will begin with a light reception on the portico; guests can mingle at tables surrounding the main house, stroll down the torch-lit alee to the Ashley River to watch the sunset, or join Drayton Hall’s professional interpreters for a house tour. Then everyone will take their places for an unforgettable evening.
