Piccolo Spoleto Festival

Annually presenting over 500 performing, literary, and visual arts events, the 17-day Piccolo Spoleto Festival transforms Charleston into an exhilarating celebration of the cultural vitality and diversity of the South Carolina Lowcountry. With a focus on accessibility and community participation in the arts, Piccolo Spoleto is the official outreach arm of Spoleto Festival USA. Piccolo Spoleto’s varied program offerings include visual arts exhibitions and performances of classical music, jazz, dance, theatre, choral music, and ethnic cultural presentations, alongside poetry readings, children’s activities, crafts, and film. Piccolo Spoleto offers something for everyone – from classical to contemporary, from traditional to cutting edge. Piccolo Spoleto prioritizes accessibility for both artists and performers, presenting professional work of the highest standard, while ensuring that nearly half of Piccolo’s events are admission-free, and the balance are offered at affordable ticket prices.
