Cast Off Fishing Tournaments

The Folly Beach Pier is one of the best destinations in the Lowcountry for pier fishing. This breathtaking landmark stretches out 1045’ into the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and offers spectacular views, fishing, dining, tournaments, special events, and more throughout the year! The Folly Beach Fishing Pier continues the 2018 tournament season on May 19. Folly Beach Cast Off Fishing Tournaments continue throughout the 2018 summer on June 30, Aug.11 and Sept. 29. Common catches off the Folly pier include blue fish, sheepshead, spotted sea trout and whiting. The Mount Pleasant Pier offers its first tournament of 2018 on May 5, followed by additional tournaments on this pier June 16, Sept. 1 and Oct. 13. The Mount Pleasant Pier offers fishing under the shade of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Opened in 2009, the pier is built on pilings from the old Silas N. Pearman Bridge, which have become a haven for many types of fish including red drum, spotted sea trout, flounder and sheepshead. Prizes are awarded at 2:15pm for the largest catch in the King Mackerel category and the three largest catches in the Big Fish category.
