Music in the Mountains

The Upcountry & Lake Hartwell Country

The Upcountry & Lake Hartwell Country

Come join the friends of the Pickens County Museum as “Music in the Mountains 2011” kicks off the new year at the Hagood Mill with “Ringing in the New Year with Old Time Music,” Saturday, January 15 from 10:00 until 4:00 in the mill site Visitor Building. Hosted by husband and wife duo, Bob and Amy Buckingham, this intimate concert is sure to set you in good “toe-tapping” spirits for the new year. Bob and Amy are both talented multi-instrumentalists and will do a variety of old time and traditional music. The concert will begin at 12:00 and run until 3:00. Seating is limited and first come, first served. Come early and share a great day with the folks at Hagood Mill. Make it your “resolution” to come out often!

Running throughout the day, the water-powered 1845 Hagood Gristmill is one of the finest examples of nineteenth century technology in the Upstate and operates just as it has for the last century-and-a-half. In the old mill, fresh stone-ground corn meal, grits and wheat flour will be available, as well as Hagood Mill cookbooks and a variety of other mill related items.
