Williams Muscadine Vineyard and Farm

Williams Muscadine Vineyard and Farm

Pee Dee Country

Pee Dee Country

We take you back in history at Williams Muscadine Vineyard and Farm. An 80-year-old farm house still stands on the property where 20 family members lived at one time. Chickens, baby chicks, peacocks, ducks and other farm animals can be seen around the farm. Visitors can sift flour, churn butter and wash clothes using lye soap, a wash board, tub and black wash pot. The five acre vineyard is filled with some of the best muscadines you'll ever test. Muscadine season usually runs from mid-August to mid-September. Bring your family, group or organizations to see what farm life was like for African Americans. Tours include an animal farm tour, old farm tools and kitchen utensils demonstrations, story reading (pre-schoolers and elementary students) and a visit to the vineyard to eat all the muscadines that you can. You can carry some home, too. We will provide the bags. The South Carolina African American Commission honored the vineyard with the 2009 Preserving Our Place in History Award. Don't miss the annual Muscadine Festival on Labor Day weekend.
