ArtFields® in Lake City, S.C., turns what was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities into a living art gallery that shows some of the best art of the Southeastern United States, recognizing the incredible talent the region has to offer. ArtFields® started in 2013 with a simple goal: honor the artists of the Southeast with a week’s worth of celebration and competition in the heart of a small Southern town. With over $145,000 in awards, the competition offers enormous opportunities to all artists in all media who live in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Some 400 artworks, from paintings and sculptures to installations and new media works, will be displayed in local venues, be they renovated 1920s warehouses or art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and other stores. ArtFields® is a mutual celebration of art and community. Are you an interested artist? ArtFields accepts submissions each Fall. ArtFields® is a program of the Lake City Creative Alliance, whose mission is to enhance the greater community through both creative endeavors, audience development and community outreach and by fostering a culturally rich environment. The LCCA tries to connect our communities through the arts, integrate arts into the education system, and serve as the lead in cultivating and advancing our region’s creative economy.
