Christmas in the Backcountry
The Living History Park will host “Christmas in the Backcountry" Saturday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Throughout time and cultures, he is known by various names such as Santa Claus, Pere Noel, Sinter Klaas, or Kris Kringle, among others. Christmas traditions and celebrations varied throughout the colonial communities, usually as a result of the cultures of their citizens. Father Christmas, better known to many as St. Nicholas, has planned a visit on Nov. 24, 2012. He looks forward to meeting with all those who love the true Spirit of Christmas and the joy the season can bring. He will be dressed, as in ages past, in his traditional Victorian coat and cap. He will be found in the comforts of the community at the Living History Park, North Augusta, SC.
The low-keyed emphasis will be on the joys of sharing Christmas with the gift of presence, not presents.
