Southend Brewery and Smokehouse is located in the historic Wagener Building on East Bay Street, just down the street from the famous Rainbow Row and Waterfront Park. Southend's gorgeous building has three unique floors, accessible by our indoor glass elevator. A three-story atrium houses large copper and stainless steel brew tanks in which they brew eight craft beers. An exhibition kitchen runs the length of the restaurant, extending into a large wood burning oven. Southend offers casual fine dining, live entertainment, and banquet event space in downtown Charleston.
The building has a long, interesting history since 1880 that continues on. Southend Brewery has a haunted past, featured on many local ghost tours as one of Charleston’s most haunted places.
Southend has a diverse menu, featuring regional American food and Lowcountry cuisine including pastas, pizzas, fresh fish, and specialty in-house smoked items such as BBQ ribs, chicken, brisket, and pulled pork. Take a ride in the glass elevator to the Harborview Bar for an unmatched view of the Charleston Harbor and have a cold microbrew or libation while playing a few rounds on the championship-sized pool tables. Sports enthusiasts can gather with friends to watch the big game on one of the six flat-screen television sets.
All attire is appropriate at Southend. Get dressed up for a romantic date or night on the town. Come as you are after a day of Charleston touring. Bring the kids for a fun family and child-friendly atmosphere. Catch a live band performance in the evening or Salsa dancing and lessons on Thursday and Saturday nights. Southend is Charleston’s finest dining, microbrew and nightlife experience.
