Aiken Bluegrass Festival

To get this right out of the way right off the bat, they love parties. They love bluegrass. Eventually, they got to wondering what would happen if they combined these two loves to create a big bluegrass party, and by cracky, The Aiken Bluegrass Festival was born! Previously held at High Fields, just east of downtown Aiken, ABGF got too big for their britches in 2014 and moved to the Aiken Fairgrounds, located at 1566 Columbia Highway North (Route 1 between the bypass and Interstate 20). As always, they promise to bring in regionally and nationally acclaimed bluegrass artists for a two-day gathering in a family friendly environment, including plenty of activities for the little bluegrass fans. Food and other vendors will be available to fill the belly and quench the thirst, so coolers will not be allowed on the festival grounds. There will be camping and RV space available for folks who would like to stay overnight. Space is limited, though, so get your reservations early. Tickets are available at local outlets and online, but they're in it for the music, the smiles and the community, not the money. All proceeds from the Aiken Bluegrass Festival benefit local charities. Consider spending a Friday and Saturday in Aiken this May for bluegrass music, good food, good friends and good times!
