Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, Home of the USS Yorktown

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, only five minutes from downtown Charleston, is home to the aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN CV-10, WWII's Fighting Lady. The museum also includes the destroyer USS LAFFEY DD-724, the submarine USS CLAMAGORE SS-343, a re-creation of a Vietnam Naval Support Base and a Marine Fire Artillery Base, 28 historic military aircraft and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Museum, as well as numerous displays and exhibits. There is also a Cold War Submarine Memorial on display. A FREE Visitor Guide and Map are provided for self-guided tours, and audio tours are available for purchase. Physically disabled visitors can access the hangar bays and flight deck via elevator and also view a video tour of the aircraft carrier YORKTOWN. Volunteers are available for informational tours.
