Several outfitters offer guided kayaking trips on Broad Creek, the waterway that runs like a shoelace through Hilton head Island. Although there is a slight current that comes and goes with the tides, the creek offers calm, protected waters to paddle, making it an ideal venue for beginners.
Kayaking through the salt marsh, you're likely to see a great variety of Lowcountry wildlife, including egrets, herons and maybe even a mink. But the big headliners here are always the dolphins who venture regularly into the creek in search of their next meal.
