There’s no better place to appreciate the charm and beauty of Landrum than from a porch overlooking the countryside. Landrum’s two inviting bed and breakfast options offer the ultimate Southern porch experience with beautiful views of rolling hills, green pastures and the mountains in the distance.

If you’re looking to relax in a picturesque setting, both fit the bill.

Traveling with your canine companion? Barking Fox Farm is the place for you. Part of a 43-acre horse farm, this pet-friendly B&B offers peaceful surroundings to kick back and savor stunning pastoral views of horses grazing in fields.

The farm includes two elegant guest cottages featuring 11-foot ceilings, chandeliers and antique furnishings with views of the surrounding horse pastures. Both offer fully equipped kitchens with stainless steel appliances, mahogany cabinets and granite countertops. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with wine and your pet will be welcomed with a doggie biscuit. And because it’s a farm, you’ll enjoy fresh eggs each morning, along with baked goods made from scratch by a local baker.

Another scenic option is the AAA Four-Diamond Red Horse Inn, a 200-acre property with a wine bar, flower-filled courtyard and Grand Terrace where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains rising above lush green fields.

The main house includes six luxury suites, each uniquely designed and beautifully appointed. All the rooms feature a king bed, fireplace, whirlpool tub and views of the mountains. If you prefer a more private space, book one of the six South Carolina cottages on the property. Constructed with cathedral ceilings, the cottages have updated kitchens and living areas with a comfortable home feel. Some offer private hot tubs; other feature fireplaces.

With its lovely setting and dreamy accouterments, it’s no wonder Travel + Leisure named The Red Horse Inn one of America’s Most Romantic Inns.

Wherever you choose to stay, you’re guaranteed relaxing accommodations with convenient access to a wide array of outdoor activities.
