You won’t find a big stretch of commercial businesses or shopping centers on Edisto Island—and that’s one of the things that makes this beach community so unique. But there are a few places you won’t want to miss during your visit. They include:
Marsh Hen Mill (formerly Geechie Boy Mill)
By whatever name you call it, this gristmill makes some of the best grits you will ever cook! Stop by and pick up a variety of grits, cornmeal, preserves, dressings and much more.
Edisto Bookstore
A local treasure, this bookstore sells new and used books and maps and offers book signings and special events. Look for Emily Grace, the store's laid-back kitty, as you explore the shop.
With These Hands Gallery
Check out this gallery of American craft, much of it focusing on the work of local artisans.
King's Farm Market
An Edisto institution, this is a great place to pick up local produce, products and flowers, not to mention fresh cakes and pies. It's open seven days a week, so stop by often.
